Node-Locked Licensing

Key-based node-locked licensing is the standard license scheme for FreeFlyer 7.10, in which each computer must have its own license file.

 

License keys may be activated via the GUI (Graphical User Interface) or CLI (Command Line Interface). Please refer to the appropriate sections below for activation instructions based on your machine configuration:

 

GUI Online License Activation (Windows Only)

GUI Online Node-Locked License Activation (Windows Only)


Activate FreeFlyer Online using the graphical user interface (GUI). GUI activation is supported on Windows only.

1.Launch FreeFlyer.

2.Request a license key using the "Click Here to Request a License" button on the 'Register a New FreeFlyer License' window as displayed in the image below.

 

 

3.After receiving a license key from no-reply@licensespring.com, copy & paste the 16 digit key into the 'License Key' field, then click 'Activate'.

4.This will complete the online activation process. You can modify your license settings at any time using the Help » Licensing Options menu.

 

 

GUI Offline Node-Locked License Activation (Windows Only)


Activate FreeFlyer Offline using the graphical user interface (GUI). GUI activation is supported on Windows only.

Note: The Offline Activation process support situations where FreeFlyer will be used on computers that do not have an internet connection. You will need to transfer licensing files between an 'offline machine' and on 'online machine'. This supports the scenario where the computer where FreeFlyer will be used does not have an internet connection. You will need to transfer license activation files between the offline machine and the 'online machine,' which is used to submit the license request.

 

1.Using the online machine, request a license key by sending an email to fflicense@ai-solutions.com.

2.Using the offline machine, launch FreeFlyer.

3.Using the offline machine navigate to the 'Activate FreeFlyer License' window and select the 'Activate Offline' option from the 'Registration Method' drop-down as displayed in the image below:

 

 

4.After receiving a license key from no-reply@licensespring.com, type the 16 digit key into the 'License Key' field of the offline machine, then click 'Create Request' to generate a unique request (.req) file.

5.Transfer the request file from the offline machine to the online machine.

6.From the online machine, upload the request file to the Offline Licensing portal at https://offline.licensing.ai-solutions.com/. This will generate a license activation file (.lic).

 

 

7.Transfer the license activation file from the online machine to the offline machine.

8.From the offline machine, import the license activation file using the 'Browse' button, then click the 'Activate' button.

9.This will complete the offline activation process. You can modify your license settings at any time using the Help » Licensing Options menu.

 

CLI Online Node-Locked License Activation (Windows/Linux)


Activate FreeFlyer Online using the command line interface (CLI). CLI activation is supported on Windows and Linux.

1.Request a license key by sending an email to fflicense@ai-solutions.com.

2.After receiving a license key from no-reply@licensespring.com, use the activate license switch (-al) to activate FreeFlyer with the unique license key using the following syntax:

Note: In Linux, the phrase "ff" is symbolically linked to an active version of FreeFlyer so that FF.exe can be called from any directory. By default, the active version is the most recently-installed version of FreeFlyer. The set active version command line switch can be used to change the active version.

 

3.This will complete the online activation process.

4.Use the report license information switch (-rli) to verify that the license was registered properly.

CLI Offline Node-Locked License Activation (Windows/Linux)


Activate FreeFlyer Offline using the command line interface (CLI). CLI activation is supported on Windows and Linux.
