This guide outlines the support phases for each version of FreeFlyer, allowing users to plan upgrades effectively. As described in the Maintenance Support Policy, users must continuously maintain licenses to take advantage of any portion of the support life cycle.
Support PhasesThe life cycle of each version of FreeFlyer consists of two phases, Full Support and Maintenance Support, before the product reaches its End of Life.
Full SupportFull Support consists of bug fixes and cyber vulnerability fixes, including those identified as Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs), delivered as minor releases. It also includes technical support provided by the FreeFlyer Support team. For most versions of FreeFlyer, the Full Support phase lasts for 2 years after the release date.
It's encouraged to upgrade to the latest version of FreeFlyer to take advantage of bug fixes, new features, and technical support. However, some environments may require less frequent software upgrades. For these situations, it's recommended to use Long-Term Support (LTS) versions of FreeFlyer. For LTS versions, the Full Support phase lasts for 5 years after the release date.
Maintenance SupportMaintenance Support consists of technical support provided by the FreeFlyer Support team. The Maintenance Support phase begins after the Full Support phase and lasts for 5 years.
End of LifeOnce a version of FreeFlyer reaches the end of the Maintenance Support phase, it is no longer supported.
